G8 climate change petition

This Thursday, the environment ministers from the G8 will be meeting in Germany. Avaaz.org (an organisation that grew out of the US MoveOn group) has been invited to attend this meeting to present a climate change petition. This year, the president of the G8 is German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Her environment minister, Sigmar Gabriel, is in charge of the ministers meeting Thursday. And at 4 pm on March 15th, Avvaz has a personal meeting with Mr. Gabriel to present a petition for binding emissions targets to stop catastrophic climate change. They're hoping for 100,000 signatures and it's up to about 83K. I don't know if it will really make a difference, but click through and sign up just in case: http://www.avaaz.org/en/climate_action_germany/tf.php
