Not taking the train

When Rail Europe said all the seats are sleeper seats they meant none of them are and as I don't want to sit up on the train all night I have to go back to the airport and ask BA to find me a hotel for the few hours I get to sleep before flying to Stansted and wondering how I pay for a taxi home. Not a happy bunny.

The Dunkin Donuts sign here is a dancing steel pig with red LED eyes.

Stuck in Berlin

What's up at Heathrow to close a runway? Flight home cancelled, alternative 6am to Stansted so wake at 4am, investigating sleeper via Brussels. Wonder if I should have taken train not taxi from airport? Here now! Phew...

Finally on a plane

After the fiasco of the train I went back to the airport, confirmed the 6:15 flight, got a room at a hotel with a shuttle, missed the shuttle finding the last friendly faces at the airport and lapsed into hysterical laughter when the taxi driver took us to the 'closest' hotel Mercure who said 'we're not the hotel Mercure; go back to the airport hotel Mercure...' Still, the red mullet and dark beer were nice, once the waitress came back to take my forgotten order the second time!
Air Berlin is playing Chris Rhea and charging for breakfast. I expect Stansted to be affected by some freak event when I arrive there, just to keep up the score.
