Wouldn't it be easier to just study?

I don't know if China is putting the same pressure on students as Japan has, but I'm a touch croggled by the reports of Chinese students injuring themelves by cheating at exams. Perhaps they watched too much Alias?

A student in Wuhan, capital of China's central province of Hubei, used earphones so small that they slipped into his aural canal and perforated his eardrum, the China Daily newspaper said.

Another student's earphones required an operation for their removal, the paper said, while an electronic device connected to headphones and strapped to a third student's body exploded, leaving a bleeding hole in his abdomen.

And we though you just needed to warn people not to damage their ears by turning up the volume...
full steam ahead

At a press briefing this morning the gentleman next to me lifted his glass of orange juice - and the bottom fell right out. Because it fell rather than being poured and because it fell with the full force of gravity rather than the hesitant control of the human hand, it made the most wonderful abstract yet regular pattern. And as the carpet was coated, the liquid stayed in distinct blobs rather than sinking in. I want to enhance the colours to make it stand out, but that might make it look less real!
