Do you trust the root of trust if it's in China? Securing DNS would address some of the issues, but not the ultimate question - whose Internet is it anyway?

In general I would expect Mozilla to trust a CA until the CA did something which gave a reason to distrust them. However if I was a chinese dissident I would probably opt to remove any chinese CA. The risk level is simply different for the different players.

I wonder - is it a good thing for the burden of action to lie there? It's a thorny question with no easy answers.
