Ego boo two

Between launch dates and the enthusiastic discussion about software patents that filled up the previous week, I ended up with two pieces in the same issue of the Guardian last week.

I remember over 5 years ago going to a demo at Ericsson and they were talking about how GPS would do wonderful things in conjunction with a 3G phone. Nice to see that true localisation is happening.

The Nokia is right up at the top of my "buy on sight" list. Looks like they finally "get it" about Linux.

or they're fostering internal competition; this is at least the third such device that Nokia R&D has devised and the only one to get near the market... they're a most odd company

A friend of mine used to work for Nokia Home Entertainment. Now that was a REALLY weird bit of the company (which has now been disbanded).

weirdest Nokia experience; disco folk waltzing in a summer restaurant on an island in the Helsinki area, which we escaped by finding a dartboard marked up like a rifle target....
